We at Wag N’ Wash Natural Food and Bakery are here to help you build a great relationship with your companion animal, especially where safety is concerned! As many of our guests have Halloween parties for themselves, many of you will also enjoy a fun Halloween party with your dogs (there may be some party cats too!). If you’re having a party with your companion animals, here are some pointers to insure a fun and safe party for all!
- If purchasing a Halloween costume for your furry friends, please insure that whatever you have chosen has a proper fit and that your party animal can see and is not too constrained by its costume. As your companion may not really enjoy being in costume, this may either take some time for them to get accustomed to, or you may need to only have the costume on for a short period of tolerable time for your companion. You should always be present to supervise your companion just in case there is a costume malfunction or any issue with the costume where you may need to assist in removing the costume.
- To insure that everyone has a nice time, you will also need to insure that your companion and those attending have amicable behaviors and can play well with one another. The party should probably not last more than a few hours as playfulness may change to irritation that could result in a fight or some intolerable behavior. You should also be aware if there are children present that all the companions can play well with other companions as well as children, and vice versa. The last think that anyone wants is a trip to an emergency vet or worse yet an emergency room.

One word of caution for everyone however is that you should never feed or let your companion animals get into your children’s treats! There treats contain several items like chocolate that can cause harm and even result in death in unusual situations, especially for small and toy breed animals.
